LIBERTY DOC INSTITUTE

MISSION STATEMENT:
LANE Doc Institute (LDI) works with under-resourced youths and young adults in Jackson, Tennessee, to foster creativity, critical thinking, and leadership skills. LDI inspires lifelong learning through mentorship in the arts so that they are better equipped to pursue and succeed in higher education. Additionally, we offer Lane Doc Film Grants to documentary filmmakers, supporting the themes of social justice, humanity, equality, and environmental awareness through our annual film festival, Lane Doc Fest.
GOALS:
Lane Doc Institute plays an important role in supporting youth mentorship programs in Jackson, Tennessee, through arts and visual media programs. Our programs target youth and young adults in under-resourced communities to pursue their artistic skills. LDI programs create projects where students can learn to write, research, and create short film projects. LDI also provides seed grants to young documentary filmmakers from all over the world to pursue their creativity in filmmaking.
We wish to provide a stimulating cultural and intellectual climate in which creativity, critical thinking, and leadership can be fostered among the young people. Students will be inspired to embrace lifelong learning and be equipped with knowledge and skills that will allow them to feel confident to succeed in life. LDI is dedicated to fostering a community of young students who will challenge themselves and thrive in their chosen professions.
To achieve our dual goals, we are committed to raising funds to support our mission and expand our reach. Our goal is to ensure that all students have access to the resources and opportunities they need to excel in order for them to be better equipped in higher education.
In addition to our annual film festival, we provide Lane Doc Film Grants to documentary filmmakers at various stages of production that align with the themes of social justice, humanity, equality, and the environment.
